Lunch with Dr. Moore at RAC Club - most palatial - best in world. To Norwood + spent afternoon + evening with the Moores. Mrs. Rennie's mother 72 + daughter Minnie. Moore's income {pound sign} 400 month before the war - dropped to {pound sign} 50 - Specialist in spinal disease. Londonderry folk Saw Crystal Palace.

19 FRIDAY (140-226) Elliot remarking on my stopping at a hotel when so hard up - as if I had any choice- am feeling very badly humiliated over having borrowed from him. Go to Tower - trot around with some Vancouver lads - Wonderful collection of weapons - Tower covers large area - Garrisoned by Welsh Fusiliers. Spent hour in the Abbey. Back to Cooden Camp, but am not wanted.

20 SATURDAY 9141-225) Leave for Canterbury - several hours at Hastings . Hunt up Stewarts - 6 Castle St. - Mother very much like McDriver - Girl of 21 Minnie - engaged, very much to a private of the Liverpool Rifles' - Stewart a coarse heavy built man. Go with the girl to Barham + see Mrs. File + Lilly Diiver.

21 SUN - 4 aft Easter (142-224) Go in motor to Barham + have tea with the Files - Knock around all morning with Stewart much to my disgust.
