W. Croston 'The Rectory' Ballyrashane Coleraine (married to a Forster from Enniskillen) - Returning from salmon fishing in the South Arrive Clones 11 o'clock - Gauleys rather bucolic Walk with Willy + Bobby to Gortnowinny Sunday School
24 Friday (84-282)
To Beltarbet with Kathleen + Lily Soden- Old fashioned place with mean ships. Catton Rector - Good but find nothing in the old reigsters - Referred to local antiquary Mrs. Elliot who has the town records back to 1683 - the Erne flowing though here very f=pretty - church dates to about 1670. Beautiful sunny day.
25 Saturday (85 - 281)
Annunciation. Lady Day. Quarter Day. Visit the Wilsons at Lisrace Farm - Old lady extremely hospitable - makes potato + oatcakes over peat-fire in a huge fireplace. Three boys blacksmiths too busy to enlist but all Ulster Volunteers, with old Italian rifle of '18. Heavy snow squall driving home.
26 Sunday - 3 in Lent (86-280)
(4h 22m PM Greenwich) Walk to peat cutting with Mrs. Noble and Kathleen - Quite a snowfall during the night. Long walk with the boys + to church.
