Walk along the cliffs in morning & take over for Thornton in afternoon - Play draughts with Jones in evening - This life becoming unendurable. Warned from HQ about Zeppelin raid. Finish Anna Karenina - Tedious, didactic & long drawn-out.

On duty all day - Maj. Vereker suggests putting me OC. P.R.G.A. at Chapel Bay, but Col. Ewan tells him I want a Siege Battery for France. Further Payment $162 received from the firm by Ada.

18 Mile walk to Little Haven & Broad Haven and back along cliffs & across country to St. Brides - Great deal of waste country, in one place not a house visible in any direction - Find & release a thrush caught in a rabbit trap. Find two "Raths" across Promontories
