To the Regiment, presumably To have my discharge endorsed on it. So I suppose, if not choked in red Tape, my appointment is sure & I may be in England before Xmas. General Turner not only endorsed the recommendation of my colonel, but in addition wrote a personal letter.
The day before yesterday Capt. Gibson was killed very close to where I was working - He was I believe The son of the Lieut. Gov. of Ontario. It is like this all the time--Pure murder all of it. The more I see of it the more unreal and absurd this war appears. There is absolutely no glamour about it at all. I think we are all gone crazy together. Certainly civilization seems a very thin veneer. I am expecting any day very particular
