To the Regiment, presumably To have my discharge endorsed on [iT?] So I suppose, if not choked in red Tape, my appointment is [sure?]. I may be in England before xmas.. General Tanner not only endorsed the recommendation of my colonel, but in addition wrote a personal letter.

The day before yesterday Capt. Gibson was killed very close to where I was working He was I believe The son of the Lieut. Gov. of Ontario. It [is?] like This all the Time--Pure murder of [iT?]. The more I see of iT The more unreal and absurd this war appears. There is absolutely no glamour about iT at all. I think we are all gone crazy Together. Certainly [illegible] [illegible] a very thin veneer.I am expecting any say very particular
