distributing extras and ran out & got one. Had hardly got back to the cafe when a row broke out at the next table and a big crowd collected. There was a lot of shouting, as usual in a Ger. row. There was some abusive language about England & the English and things might have been very disagreeable for me had I been recognised as an "Englander". Fortunately I was not so walked home when the row had subsided. There was a noisy demonstration all through the rest of the night. A large mob collected in front of the British Consulate on the [?].
