Dear Capt.

I was exceedingly sorry I did not see you be-fore I left, I had to make an early start in the morning, otherwise I would have hopped round to your billet before going.

I am so glad to have met you + I have to thank you for the many kindnesses you showered upon me, + I live in hope of again meeting you in the near future.

Now, if you have any cause to be up our way be sure you call in + see me, you will easily find our Hd, Qrs.

I have been awfully busy since again coming into the Line, due to having no Orderly Officer, + my clerk being on leave. I was out of the office for the first time today, when the Doctor + I went for a short ride. However never grumble it is all for "Home + Beauty"

How is the new Town Mayor getting along? He is a great b'hoy. Convey my best wishes to him when next you meet him.

Please excuse short scribble, Best wishes to you over worked companion + self.

Yours V Sincerely

AS Wallace.
