beautiful sea side place with miles and miles of beaches called PARIS-PLAGE about four miles from ETAPLES. In ? camp over night. Eight of us slept in tent.

June 8th. Left ETAPLES at 7:23 am and arrived in FREVENT at 11:50 a.m. Good lunch there. Saw Webb and Capt Thomas in his car and he very kindly brought me back to DUISANS. I reported to the D.A.D.L. VI Corps. Was informed that Colonet Cliffe of the 40th ? H,Q. wishes to see me. I saw him and he has placed me in command of the 154 ? Coy.

June 9th Awaiting orders from Col. Cliffe. Most intense bombardment on.

June 10th Sunday. Very close weather. At night severe thunderstorms and very heavy rain.

June 11th. Wrote Paymaster about ? polls. Very close. Fair bombardment on.
