April 1st Sunday Very busy all day. Saw Capt Thomas. Heavy rain, hail, sleet, snow & sunshine. Had a letter from mother, Gracie Grove & Jessie also very busy in Orderly Room.

April 2nd Cpl Malson returned "Cheers". Very busy all day. Very wintery. Heavy snow at times. Wrote Jessie V.I.

April 3rd Again heavy snow & extremely cold & wintery. Lieu Webb leaves today. Rotten luck. Again rotten weather. Paid for use of kitchen from 14th of March up to today 10 frs each.

April 4 Very busy again. Little better weather. Vaughan started as my Servant. Roads dangerous to REBRUEVE. America declares war.

April 5th. Great excitement. Rumoured that Peace was proclaimed & that all guns had the "Cease Fire on the Western Front, turns out to be not.

April 6th Good Friday. Very busy on rounds. Lovely sunny morning. Friends of
