SHORNCLIFFE

My dear Miss Russell,-

Ever so many thanks for your most welcome letter which I received a few days ago. It is good to get mail from Victoria. I usually do not know what to write but will do my best to tell you what has been my lot since reaching England.

You will have heard that we reached Shorncliffe safely long ere this and were glad to get here – at first. Now we are not so much in love with it. Folkestone is really the place I am writing about as Shorncliffe is only a station a mile out of Folkestone. It is a summer resort, and, I suppose
