I take the opportunity of writing you a few lines to let you know that I am still on top & in good health and getting along fine I am writing this in an old German dugout that we are living in just now there are sixteen of us in it and although we have to keep a light burning & have only about 2½ feet to a man we get along amazingly well and scarcely ever have a falling out among our selves which goes to show that we all pull together pretty good. Tell Mr. Grain that I wrote this with one of the pencils that he was kind enough to sent to us through Chester Boyd and thank him for us. It is raining like
