bad for the future of Britian I expect it will mean a large influx of people with means & also spare capital to Canada. So we ought to be a littel the better for it.

Your letter of 30/1/19 with the two observers came to hand to day 24/2/19. I have had several goes at this letter since I started it my nephews (fine lads) come around & I have to quit as they seem to want me for something or the other most all the time & I enjoy there co more than any thing else & I dont suppose I shall ever see them again after I leave here. The news re quartz is most interesting & encouraging & I shall try & get it spoken on in a local paper read by the moneyed class. It ought to be made quite readable just now as one of the many things to which our demoblized officers can do. I.E. get rich in the Cariboo Quartz mines. it might lead to enquiries.

I belive I did thank you for sending the copy of the Observer which you sent to my sisters. I know they asked me to & since I have been home they have again spoken of it & wish me to tell you how pleased they were with your kind thoughtfullness is sending it (the paper) I told them I was sure you were
