When I get back I hope to go on to my bit of land with another piece if the Govt does what it has talked of doing lending us up to 2500 at Govt rates of interest to buy stock with now I see something about lending us that amount if we need it. Is a man who has saved a bit to get less than say a man like Norrie who never tried to get a bit ahead of a bottle of whiskey It is a rotten & unbusiness like way if that is the plan. To lend more to a waster than to a man who has tried to prepare a bid against old age needs If I had not come & had worked as hard as I have & spent as little as I have (on my self at any rate) I should now I think have that amount to start with of my own Please tell Mrs. Tregillus & Mrs. McArthur & Mrs. House that I offer them my sincerest smypathies in thier loss of Son & Brother. I know how fond of him they were. A Mothers & a Sisters love is a very deep & wonderful thing BC Archives, MS-0426 Box 1 File 5 Tregillus, Frederick James, 1862-1962, Barkerville; miner.
