by a lump of something which did not go in but burst up one kidney & injured my internal organs rather severeley I am now marked A2 again owing to my B.S. in telling the Drs how well I felt. A2 is too high for me of course but the only harm it does me is that I have to do much severe drill etc which I am hardly yet strong enough to stand & at the same time build up my lost strength. I left Hale hospital 3 weeks earlier than I ought to on a gamble that I might get sent to Eastbourne Con. Camp We (The Dr at Hale, "an old Eastbourne man) & I lost & I was sent to Epsom. I disliked the place very much & B.S. them into marking me out they sent me to Seaford & there the M.O. asked me if I wanted stay there or go to my base. I said base so he excused me all drill & P.T. till I could be sent here. That took a week but I had to work as we moved camp (3 miles) in that week, A terrible fuss & turmoil that little move made. Seaford is a base camp for B.C. & some other Batts. Big Jim McKenna was there acting as hut orderlie (a Job for a very old man) I did that in France when I had trench feet slightly I dont see how these young strong men can swing the lead so succesfully. J. McKenna is in the forestry corps a Bomb proof outfit almost entirely Rumatics J. McK called it.
