5/simply ommited to realize that I was for once far enough back to be caught by a army order that is considered dead in the danger gone. To a man who had lived a free life in the Mountains it is hard to take the petty overbearing way of some of these Military Police, one days pay was the least I could get. so I have no kick on that score. but we do see too many Red Caps about. Where we are now there is quite a lot of mosquitoes around & they have a nasty poisionus sting always raise a lump I suppose be cause the ground is so septic. Crops here are good much better than in the part we left & the ground is cropped up very close to the firing line many the good patch of Potatoes get blown out or burried deep under dirt thrown out of a hole & ft deep & 20 across & the same with oats or wheat only the spoilt patch in grain is bigger as it is a heavy rank crop & easily lodged
