Both men & women are well & smartly dressed & look in the best of health But the very best thing of all that I saw was that the children from babies up to 16yrs were much better cared for & better grown & stronger looking than when I left England 35 years ago. Even in East & N.E. London were I went on purpose to find out I was much struck & pleased with the well nourished & developed & clothed look of the coming Britians it is the greatest change of all that I see. People in England are all under some war strain but for the most part they try to be calm & unworried as they know it is the best thing to do But they never forget that there is a big war on & that lots of men are going west every day & they are allways thinking & planing for the soldier & every one is very kind to us from France
