2/ If people in Canada knew how much we look forward to a letter from home they would write oftener. it is a fine thing & does one good when we get back from ( as on the Somme) a hell of shell fire after a 14 mile walk & shelled going & coming 8 miles of that & then for 4 or 5 hours while there at work with perhaps several good friends killed on that trip when night after night of 3 weeks you do that ; each night we can enjoy a letter from any one if we could get it.letters from home can help to win this war.
