Spl, J Tisdals any one would be good to a man far from home & very hungry can belive how hungry we get for news & how much pleasure we get from our & others mail as after mail distribution each man in the same shelter with you, tells the others all the contents of his letters. While I write this we are jarred with the exploshion of guns but it is nothing to the one that was on a few nights ago or one that was going on at our last place it is grand to hear & see but terrible in its results. We have had 3 Gass attacks neither of them did any harm we can put on our Gass helmets in 4 seconds if we have to & are prepared to do so as we always are when up close & the wind is favourable to Fritz a wind of 6 to 9 miles a hour is a gass wind faster or slower is not considered any good it is very uncomfortable to have
