Dear Fred

Last night I got your letter writen Aug 1st It is always a great pleasure to me to get your letters. as you know so well what is of intrest to us. This time I rather [belev?] you left out one [sheel?]. I got two, written + 1 Typed, [?] the top of the written one you spoke of goes Death Callanan I guess but I had not heard of it + I judged you had written of it elsewere. I met for a few [minuets?] a time ago most of the Carriboo boys in the 67th all were well then I did not see G. Turner one of the boys I met at 230 a.m. on a hot night, lost with a mule was able to help him a bit but did not know his road very well though I knew my own. We are now in a new place + a very important one at this time
