Dear Fred

Last night I got your letter writen Aug 1st It is always a great pleasure to me to get your letters. As you know so well what is of intrest to us. This time I rather beliv you left out one sheet. I got two, 1 written & 1 Typed. At the top of the written one you spoke of Joe's Death; Callanan I guess but I had not heard of it & I judged you had written of it elsewere. I met for a few minutes a time ago most of the Carriboo boys in the 67th all were well then I did not see G. Turner. One of the boys I met at 230 a.m. on a hot night, lost with a mule was able to help him a bit but did not know his road very well though I knew my own. We are now in a new place & a very important one at this time
