2/ I am glad you reminded me of the need of your having an address to write to I gave them yours & told them something of the pleasant Sunday Evenings I had spent at your house & of other things that thy might know something of our friendship. I arranged with them to write you if anything happens me I of course gave thier address as next of Kin The Address is Miss i& Seeley, Bourn-Mead Hyde Road. Eastbourne. Eng. The people of England take the war very seriously but NOT fearfully. everyone almost seems to have a stout heart & to be prepared to go the limit in giving up friends or comforts Here at Shorncliffe we are not much favoured most people here seem short tempered with a Soldier. ( I expect with good reason) but while I was away at Eastbourn, London, Hastings & Brighton. I met with much kindness from all sorts of people who evediently make a duty of helping a soldier either by good & kind little attentions that do not have to be sought for only taking much pains to put him on his right road & do any such act as may help him get around quickly. A. London Motor Buss Condoctor who I asked for information re busses at a very rush time of the day took me by the arm & pioleted me across a very dangerous street. was glad of his help as I was a bit bewildered at the great rush & high speed of countless busses & Motar Cars.
