a bit slow for a bit to let the rear catch up, then me back to the rear to encourage the weary to another effort for the country & thus we moved through the town of Princ George in fair shape the train came in while we were still 1/4 mile away & our funny man & one or two others helped to cause a bit of confusion & more fun. However all were willing and anxious to go only some wanted to prolong the spree as it appeared to be. Many people told me what a fine bunch of men I had but were much worried as to how I could get them started. I had no fear about that (only I had a dread of the whole bunch being made a laughing stock by reason of one or two)

On the whole the bunch was much addmired for their lively but good natured behaviour. & a number came to me & congratulated me on my
