industrial conditions here, and I hope the same is true, and that it will continue.

When I came down from Lillooet I came over the P. G. E., and Joe was the first dog to make the through passage.

I expected to have some trouble with him when I struck the city, but he took no more notice of electrices + traffic than as if he had been around all his life. I lost him one day a while ago on Douglas St, + found him on Government St an hour later, tired out from hunting for [one?], and his tongue out a foot, He seems awfully intelligent and learns easily, It took one somewhere between 5 and 10 minutes to teach him to leap through a hoop a few days ago, + now, all I have to do is pick up the hoop, + through he goes, turns, + comes back through again without any speaking or making a sound. My one regret is that I am unable to get in the woods a while this summer with him.

Well, will close with regards to all the family, + hoping you will remind anyone coming to the coast of where I am. Yours, Freeman Killian
