I think it is fully time that I was dropping you another line or two to let you know that Joe and I are both doing very well up to the present, and have hopes for the future.

At present I am among the unemployed, and the prospects are of my remaining the same for some little time. I got into a little contrarification at Lillooet that resulted in my severing all connection with the police force, and while it is a bit tough to have to give up a job when in your own mind you know you have done no wrong, yet when we consider the standing of the position and everything I guess perhaps I am as much fortunate as hurt. Kind of looks like an overthrow of the present system from the indications around the coast, but I don't know what the interior will bring forth. Vancouver is Liberal all right, and so I think will Victoria be, though most up country seem to think Vic will stand pat. I am looking for an overthrow, and if it comes will get busy, It was a ticklish job to hold a job while the
