Dear Miss Leighton,

You will no doubt be surprised to receive this from me, but seeing I am in Hospl and nothing much to do, I thought I would write a few lines. It seems a long time since I saw you last and perhaps you can hardly remember me. I am Bill who used to now you and Mrs McLean around in the boat so much. Gee how I wish those times were back again now. I have been expecting to see you out here as a nurse but as yet have not had the pleasure of seeing you as such. Every thing is great out here especially "Fritz Whiskey Bangs". I think that is what I've got. Anyway, I should worry a "lot" and build a dug-out on it. I feel awful lonely so if you have a few moments to spare I should be delighted to receive a letter from you. Have you any of the photo's that we took while we were North on the "Dola".
