present employed on some big government work somewhere in the British Isles, he has been there for nearly two years, and Eleanors husband Bright is in France, twice in hospital, and been recently promoted to Lieut. he joined as a volunteer and soon made headway, and I am the only one who is doing nothing but it can't be helped - I can't tell you a think about what is going to happen after we eventually get out of here, but the only thing I hope is that I may eventually see you again - when and where I dont know, but hope for the best. Do you know we have now been over two years here in Ruhleben, but the curious thing is, I know nothing of the district as I have never been outside, don't know what it will be like to be free again - never did such a long stretch before. Wish I could send you a few cigarettes, do you still enjoy a quiet smoke? I think all my beloved sisters do, it seems everybody has taken the craze on
