I cannot call you much, in spite of your l?b?*st[?], as it is not allowed and having to censor my own letters makes it all the more difficult. One could say a lot more if someone with else had to do it and at the same time I am glad I do it myself, as it would limit one very much in what one had to say about other things, in fact ones letters would become somewhat frigid.

We got fired on by 7 of our pals on our way up here, and they got unpleasantly close for about 10 minutes, before they discovered their mistake. Luckily the sea was very bad and they did not hit us, but we ran some and gave Congrats same time. I wish that I could tell you more, but there have been such informal vows about people saying too much that it is not good enough. Sorry to disappoint you. You have not said anything about the lace. I did not get it as, far as I know, you may not care for it lots of people dont. We are away from Malta now so if you want some I regret to say that you will have to wait until we go there again. I had a lot of riding while I was there and took a good many to*s[?] trying to learn polo, I gave it up as I am much too slow and have got no eye for it, but at is grand fun while you are still[?] on your [?]ag's back.
