My dearest old Dodie

    I was no end pleased to get your ripping long letter & by Jove typed too, & by your funny old self.  Just fancy you a business woman & typing letters - It seems so awfully funny, & how things are changed, still I have nothing but respect & praise for your doing it, & honour you for it.
    And so you have really missed me, I wonder - I wonder very much- however its awfully nice of you to say so.
    Graham Anderson is after all still suffering from the effects of his wound & not his illness as he or someone first told me. I do hope he'll soon be fit again.
    Lor' you know I have to stop & chuckle every now & then when I think of you having to toe the line in an  office.  It really is so funny, isn't it?
    Really you know it is you who has lost the sense of humour & not I - Fancy you asking me why I asked you why you wanted a Pram. Really old girl just pull your little self together & sit down & think
