Oct 27 Sunday - Dined with Col Spry at 29th Bn - stayed at Fosse S ROCHE (an old German rest camp). Band concert excellent. Enjoyed eveg v. much. Col Tobin in command of Bn (Tobin's Tigrs)

31. Went to Boulogne in car accompanied by Col Gentles as far as Aubin St Vaast. Fine but dull. Passed Mrs Douai. Every flat glass window purposely broken. Beffroi intact. Stayed night at Hotel Maurice.

Nov 1. Wet. Good crossing. Made London about 3.30 pm. Got in at Russell No' all hotels v. crowded - Quiet but pleasant evening.

2. Shopping. - Spent alot of money, everything at fancy prices. Taxes exorbitant & very independent . Went down to Fleclauds for diner but slept at Russell.

3. Sunday. Ch at Temple. HC Music lovely & reverential as ever. Called on Mrs W Hope , wife of W. Hope RCA the artist (She was a Jarvis & sister of Col Art Jarvis). She was out - went to Dandsworth Hospl & saw Major Maclean - [illegible] but progressing fairly well- (He did not recover).

4. To Norwich. Reached Barvardiston's for liver.
