July 11. Continued sitting at LATTRE till 6.45 pm. Walked home through rain - Lumbago

12. Took to my bed for the first time since leaving house - Lumbago quite acute - Rain

13. Still in bed - much pain at night - could barely move a muscle.

14. Sund. Pain pretty bad but improving . Enjoying the society of my room mate Major Wells

15. Per stretcher & ambulance to WARLUS near ARRAS on move of Div. Hqrs. Much better, Everyone kind - Sorry to say bye to Le Cauroy. Very kindly treated by everyone on the move esp. Col Spuy. V. heavy thunderstorm & rain during night. Hot & muggy.

17. Got to work in the Eveg & joing B. Mess . V. nice lot of fellows who made me at home.

22 to 26. Moved back to le Cauroy - What is up? Heavy rain showers.

30. Cdn Corps moved south - Div. moved by train. Self detrained with Major Wells at Loughor & walked to Fourdiunoy - V. hot - some of the troops had a very long & trying march - This move was a surprise to the Boche who were quite deceived by finding in the Ypres sector 2 Bns from 2nd Div. sent there for camouflage ) 27th Bn
