Oct. Raining & blowing a gale. Rough & wet crossing. Seasick. Stopped at Hotel des Loudrs in Soulogne.
17. Rejoined Bn at Vilers au Bois. Bn came out of the line.
18. Bn marched to Baisuit Bouche - Rotten H.Q. billet in so called Chau.
21. Sund. Ch. Parade
22. [illegible] for move to Flanders.
23. Making final preparations. I had a bath at Ch au & a shave. Walked towards Carency & from a new point saw the old familiar ground of Lorette Ablain N.W. of Vimy Ridge.
24. Marched out to Savy lessD.C. Entrained [illegible] at 4.30 pm. Marched to billets at Houdegheur & arrd at 7.30 pm. pitch dark. Rough night 1st march excellent 2nd [illegible].
25. D.C. & Maj Wilmot arrd 8.30 am. Fine.
26. Broken weather . Villagers very hospitable & friendly. Walked to Stagebrouck & back with Maj. Wilmot.
27. Fine. Party to Corps at 9 Elms [illegible] model of Passchendale Ridge.
29. Practice over tapes- Italy's Debacle - Routed by German army & rotted by German propaganda.
