Show starts at 5:30 - Lights of all kinds on units of front & unites in depth. Noise not excessive - [illegible] favourable. [illegible] used German lines spit fire continuously from shell bursts. Day breaks & it gets lighter. Every thing seem to go well according to the light signals as arranged - Strong wind with flurries of snow & sleet - Later prisoners begin to come in - we can see the walking wounded trailing back for miles through the slippery mud. News of advance quite satisfactory. Bowker killed - [illegible] wounded. Fr Brown died of wounds also McIntyre .

Apl 10 - More snow [illegible] rain & sunshine - Very cold. Gray killed while leading his platoon to Vimy Rlwy embankment after reaching objective - [illegible]. Pouton, RH Wilson & Corbett wounded. Operation entirely successful - Everything went like clockwork. Casualties about 140. Captured H 5.gl:27.7 s & 2 W.G.s. Out fosto reached within 75 yds of Farbus Sta. Total advance 4000 yds. Air work not remarkable - Few aeroplanes
