Mch 24. 69th Bn left for overseas - [arrd?] 12th Apr.

Apr 4. Officers warned by C.O. to be ready for overseas in 10 days. No. 3 Co moved into new building vacated by 69th Bn.

10. First inocculation for typhoid - unpleasant.

5. No. 2 Co came back from [Duncans?] No. 1 Co from [Belmous?] House and No. 4 from skating rink.

20. Second inocculation

29. Third. Ditto - second was the worst.

May 23. After many false alarms 88th Bn C.E.F. embarked on Princess Charlotte at 5:30 pm. Col. H Rous Cullin in command. Maj. B H Harrison 2nd i/c Capn R. H. Ley adjt. Major Pym 2nd major. We had a very magnificent send off from a hearty + sympathetic crowd which seemed to be composed of personal friends. Scene of moving colour of masses on wharf seen from [Shearner's?] bridge never to be forgotten. Day perfect. Saw [Nell?] on the way down but missed Harry.
