Wednesday 31st May Reached Halifax about 10am but held in train until abt 3.30 pm when we went on board Olympic with 89th 90th 7th Divn Batty 95th C.A.M.C & odd details & 99th Bn Nusby. Officers quarters luxurious on C deck. Shared cabin C 144 with J.M. Mackenzie & Bob Horton. Whole ship rigged out as troopship & 2nd dining saloon used by officer NCO's & smoking room used as officers only. Cargo rooms kept intact. Reception room used as armoury. 1st Cl saloon as troop hospital & our men slept in hammocks but some in cabins. Getting steam up.

Thursdy 1 June Lovely day. HMS Cumberland came into harbour joining Carnarvon & Niobe.

Friday 2 June Lovely day. Saw Navy yacht with cadets on board, among them Pip Musgrave. The 57th French Canadian Battn having come on board got under way about 8am with cheers from aux cruiser Caronia & other vessels in harbour the band playing
