We hear today that the Germans are making a big attack on a very long front but we are quite out of it here and have only the distant sound of guns to remind us of war. Your last letter, which I only received a few days ago, was full of love as ever. It would indeed be grand to walk into Pentrelew and see for myself whether you had any of you forgotten me.
