My dearest Mother

I have just received a wonderful parcel from you containing all sorts of good things. Toffee and cakes and peppermints and some of your washing cloths beautifully made.

My pen is very bad but I expect you can read ink writing more easily than pencil.

So Arthur Bridgman has come over to England to look after his fortune. Milly Barnardiston wrote and told me about it though she heard he was in England before she
