This place is considerably changed since we were here last. On coming in last night we found two houses fallen into the middle of the road & the whole place thickly strewn with bricks & chalk. At our H.Q. mess dugout there is a huge shell hole under one end, another not quite so close on one side and another at the back. With the usual luck of this Bn we missed a 5 hours strafe the Boche put in during the morning. He is throwing some small pieces of brick in the door of the orderly room just now.

It is great to see a H.V. shell strike a high brick wall. The bricks go higher & travel farther than you would think possible.

So Dick McBride has cashed in. They said this was likely to happen soon.
