crippled with it at all. The same applies to the wool. In both cases there is sure to be somebody needing them.

Today the ground is white with snow but thank God, for the next few days we are out of the trenches. My orderly room work is making me fat for my appetite is good, it is cold & I can get no exercise.

However tomorrow I hope to have a holiday & to go for an all day ride with the 2nd in command. Our C.O. never can do enough for his officers if he thinks they are trying to do their best. He is Col. JG Ross. By the way my late Co Commdr Major JC Ross has left for Canada & if he goes to Victoria as is likely will look you up. We got on very well even when his health was breaking down.
