hard on footwear and warm socks are a blessing at a height of from 8 to 10 thousand feet above the ground, where the warm June days don't seem to make themselves felt in the least. I am sorry to hear that poor Uncle George has been hurt. Do tell me how he is getting along. Has Aunt Mary left for the east yet, or is that blessed suit holding her up? I was under the impression that our appeal had gone to the highest possible court and their decision was final, but it must be I am mistaken. I suppose Mrs. Lewis has come and gone again. Did you enjoy her visit?

Victoria must be getting warm now, even more than here. Suppose the garden is a fine sight now. Wish I could be there to have some of the good things from it. Hope you get that prize the city is offering.
