Toronto, March 18, 1917

Dearest Mother,

Last Monday I recieved a letter from you and again yesterday (Saturday) as well as one from Uncle Gene so I am doing better than I deserve. I am glad to hear you are well and that you are enjoying nice weather in Victoria. I cannot say the same for the weather here just now. It "snew" last night a little and to-day there is a cold miserable wind blowing. Our routine goes on the same as ever, but next week our class "C" expects to take the machine gun course in which case we drop all else till
