AEROPLANE EXPERIMENTAL STATION, MARTLESHAM HEATH, NR. WOODBRIDGE, SUFFOLK.

Mother dear, for your photo. It reached me a few days before Xmas and I was mighty glad to get it. It is really excellent, though – I hope you don't mind my saying so – it seems to me to make you seem just a trifle older than you should. Your parcel has not shown up yet, though Cox's have my address. I do wish you had sent it straight here, as every time it is redirected it runs two or three more chances of being stolen, and I am convinced that there are a soldiers' parcles stolen in the mail. You spoke of a parcel from Uncle Fred. That has not arrived, nor have I heard a word from him for ages. Dad's letter has arrived and I will answer it very soon.
