Victoria, B. C., 12th Feb'y/04 (2:10 P.M.)

PURSUANT to adjournment the court met at 2:10 P.M., all parties being present as before.

Court: Has the forms of oath been prepared?

Mr. Powell: Yes, we have at all events succeeded In getting a comprehensive oath.

Court: I think it would be as well to have that oath interpreted.

David Lee: having been duly called was sworn as Interpreter.

David Lee: (Reading Oath) The maker of this Holy - or the King's Oath - Then there is space here for the witness to sign of course. In Re Wong On and Wong Cow, both charged with the murder of Man Quann. I, (witness) if I false swear against Wong On or Wong Cow both Heaven above punish me, Thunder and lightning destroy me, may I die in the street, my descendants never shall be prosperous. May I die like the chicken. If I tell the truth and the whole truth Heaven above bless me and my descendants and myself be prosperous, and to the eyes of above dated in the reign of the Emperor - the 12th year, 12th month the day the maker of the witness to sign
