January Friday 4 1901 [?] left after breakfast Perry had made a very good tiller for [?] Julia out of a piece of hickey which he bought in M[?]. One of [?] sheep lambed in No 2 field but the lamb was dead when Robbie found it. [?] [?] there was an [?] [?] of more snow coming. I was up this morning long before day light & [?]. Finished reading "The [?] of the [?]" by Frank Buller. [?]

Snowing January Saturday 5 1901

Snowing [?] until [?] 3 sheep had lambs, 2 [?] & one [?] - all mine. Perry & [?] snow off the building Perry got up on the [?] [?] oil on the windvane to prevent it making[?] a weird noise [?] if [?] to do [?] a woundous night. Tonight [?] came [?] Wrote a ling letter to Emma[?] Barton[?]. I am [?] has a few photos & a small book " Everybodys Medical guide," Mail for [?] leaving Victoria on the 11th [?] & I have a good many letters to write.
