9am R. South [29.77] January Friday 1 1892 12-5 a.m. God be thanked for all His mercies, I and my family are well in health. I am not very [slim?] but I am still able to attend to [unintelligible] to do duty in the Ch. [Militant?]. Terry want yesterday with Mr. [Hauson] and Harvey Sitwell to shoot ducks at the mouth of the Chemanius River, and they were to stay the night at Gibbs - [Robbie], Deena and my Mary "Tutu" are here on Kuper island with me and my dear wife- [Chausson] and Elouway here on a visit - the 2 latter and Robbie sat up once the New Year comes in. I go [now?] to bed praying [to?] the Lord God Our Heavenly Father to watch over [us] and protect us all in this present year of 1892 [or?] for so love as He may spare our unworthy lives.
