Q.198 The same Company pays the bill. Why should pay the other?

A. He says he don't know.

Q. 199 Since the other camp got no meat, did he still get meat?

A. Yes.

Q. 200 Mr. Simpson says the Maquinna was four or five days late. How was it the other boys did not get theirs?

A. He got a lot of salt pork and bacon and ham.

Q. 201 There are two camps, Camp No. 1 and Camp No. 2

A. Yes, His are boys in Camp No. 1.

Q.202 what is the trouble with Camp No. 2, when the boys have to go and dig clams on the beach?

A. He said maybe he didn't send enough. They had ham; may be the other camp didn't send for any of them.

Q. 203 The other boy said that when he sent an order in, he cut the order dow and only sent half?

A. He said he don't know anything about that

Q. 204 Does he know anything about these boys at the other camp having no food except rice and clams for a while?

A. He don't know.

Q. 205 Didn't they mix at all, the two camps?

A. No.

Q. 206 How far the the two camps apart?

A. Over a mile.

Q. 207 Wasn't there some trouble because somebody else took a contract for Camp No. 2? Didn't these fellows in Camp No. 2 take a contract on their own or one fellow take a contract for these boys.

A. He said he don't know.

Q. 208 How many men have you got?

A. Four men and himself.

Q. 209 Was there any trouble between him and these men at camp 2 at all?

A. No.
