INQUISITION

An Inquisition indented taken at Hope in the District of Yale British Columbia, the 25th day of September in the 48th year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lady Victoria, before me, James Wardle, gentleman, Deputy Coroner for our Lady the Queen, for the District of Yale aforesaid, upon the view of the body of Ah Soy then and there and within the jurisdiction of the said Coroner, lying dead, upon the oaths of

William Teague (Foreman) Thomas Daly J. A. Bowes S. M. Walker Charles Galloway J. H. Bevis

good and lawful men of the District aforesaid, in the said Province, who being here sworn and charged to enquire, on the part of our said Lady Queen, when, where, how, and after what manner, the said Ah Soy came to his death, do say upon their oath, that The deceased Ah Soy came to his death by a violent blow done by some person.
