[Inq Com] Inquisition British Columbia to wit {

An Inquisition indented taken at Forks of Quesnelle British Columbia the eighth day of July in the thirty seventh year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lady Victoria, before me Oliver Hane one of the Coroners for our Lady the Queen for the district of Forks of Quesnelle aforesaid, upon view of the remains of the body of "Ing Com" a Chinese miner of Keithley Creek, Then and There and within the jurisdiction of the same Coroner, lying dead, upon the oaths of William P Barry; Hugh Doak, J K. Barker; E Tie + Sing Hen good and lawful men of the district aforesaid, who being now here sworn and charged to enquire, on the part of our Lady the Queen, when, where, how, and after what manner the said "Ing Com" came to his death, do say upon their oath that the following evidences have been attended to by them -

- After viewing the remains - Ah Tye, Sworn, says He left Keithley crossing about 7 oclock on Thursday morning the 20th July [?] for the Forks of Quesnelle on Horseback; when about 4 Miles on the Trail he saw a hat and some Tobacco alongside the trail he thought something was wrong but had not time to look = As five Bears [?] two full grown (Cinnamon or brown) and three cubs came out of the scrub and gave chase to him one caught him by the boot but he managed to ride away from them and in doing so lost his hat. He came on to the forks and told the people he thought a man had
