The advantages & disadvantages to British Columbia.

British Columbia has little or no manufacturies; all the industry seems centered either in sealing, salmon fishing or mining. There is little or no agricultural lands away from the sea shores and the farther one journeys into the interior of the island the wilder and more desolate seems the country; the island of Vancouver has never been explored: as it is almost impossible to get provisions in except at an enormous cost, as all the packing has to be done by white men at 2$ a day; and [illegible] then they wont pack more than 50 lbs at a load for a distance of 8 miles farthest.
