Sept 27th. The rain has caused the lake to rise 3 ft consequently making us move all our tents; it is still raining hard & no sign of the party.

Sept 29th. At last they arrive; one man with a black eye thro effect of someone's knuckles. we are sent to get extra boats from Union.

Sept 30th. Three of us start back in separate boats and have a race against a hard wind; one man get disabled losing one of his row locks so I take him in tow part of the way trying to tack with the sail.
