June 12th. Sunday once more we prospect all the creeks but get no gold there must be something in seeking for gold on the Sabbath.

June 13th. Again we move our dwellings carrying our houses on our back like the snails and dont get camp fixed until it begins to get dark and you bet we none of us have time for dreaming we are also tired.

June 14th. Today we explore and cut out a trail the surveyor going ahead with a pocket compass. we also bridge the [?] so we can cross it takes us all day to get 3 miles we are in a lovely valley excellent soil "sandy loam" but trees are so thick  one never sees the sun except occasionally .
